Overview

St Patrick's Catholic School (Taumarunui) is a multicultural Catholic school in the heart of the King Country.

We are seeking a passionate, trained primary school teacher to join our supportive team from the beginning of the 2026 school year.

The position will be in our middle or senior school; please state your preference.

Scale A teacher — Full time, Permanent

Responsibilities

Teach primary and intermediate (Years 1–8); deliver engaging, well-structured programmes in religious education, reading, writing, and mathematics using the new curriculum.

Collaborate with colleagues to nurture akonga as faithful, responsible, lifelong learners, while upholding the Special Character of the school.

Contribute to implementing PB4L, the CODE spelling programme, and a structured literacy approach (advantage).

Support curriculum delivery in the middle or senior school as assigned and participate in school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

Certificated teacher / trained primary school teacher (Years 1–8).

Ability to use the new curriculum to create engaging programmes in religious education, reading, writing, and mathematics.

Experience with PB4L, the CODE spelling programme, and a structured literacy approach is advantageous.
