We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Student Health Services team at the University of Waikato.

This is a chance to deliver expert primary care in a collaborative, student-centred environment that values innovation, equity and wellbeing.

You'll work as part of an integrated and supportive multidisciplinary team - including GPs, counsellors, registered nurses, and health promotion specialists - to improve health outcomes for our diverse student population.

Our students include young adults, international learners, mature students, and Maori and Pacific communities, so experience in youth health, sexual health, mental health, and culturally responsive care would be a strong advantage.

This is a part-time role (fifteen hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

For more information on the role please see the position description.

For a confidential conversation about the role, please contact Kym Christodoulou, Medical Director,

All applications must be submitted through the online portal, emailed applications will not be accepted.

If you're ready for your next challenge and want to join a passionate and student-focused health service team, you'll be a qualified Nurse Practitioner with a master's degree, current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as both a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, and prescribing rights.

You will bring at least five years of recent clinical experience, excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills are essential, along with a proactive and flexible approach in a dynamic university setting.

An interest or experience in the health needs of tertiary students, including youth mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and Maori and Pacific health, would be a strong advantage.

You will be committed to improving student health outcomes and capable of working effectively with a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds.

At Te Whare Wananga o Waikato, we embrace equity and diversity - your ability to provide culturally responsive care is essential to this role.
