Assistant head of department – mathematics, full-time, permanent position to start term 1, 2026.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced assistant head of department for mathematics to join our passionate team.

This leadership role involves contributing to the strategic development and delivery of the Mathematics curriculum, supporting and mentoring staff, and helping to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities :

Assist the HOD in curriculum planning, delivery, and review

Provide leadership and support to Mathematics teaching staff

Promote student engagement and achievement in Mathematics

Collaborate with senior management on departmental goals and initiatives

Support professional development within the department

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

Looking for :

Registered and certificated secondary school teacher with proven expertise in mathematics

Leadership experience in education, preferably within a secondary school setting

Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills

Commitment to the holistic development of students and alignment with the Catholic ethos of the school

Innovative and collaborative approach to teaching and leadership
