From optimizing renewable generation to building a more intelligent grid and enabling utilities to deliver excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy transforms the industry worldwide.RoleAs a Solutions Engineer on our Global Platform Engineering team (based in Wellington, New Zealand), you will design, build, and maintain the build process for new client environments while providing custom solutions to meet networking, regulatory, data safety, and other requirements.What you'll doBuild platform tooling and automation primarily in Python to support new client infrastructure buildsCollaborate with clients and product teams to support use cases and integrationsProvide production support for highly-available, internet-facing systemsImprove CI / CD pipelines (CircleCI), deployment tooling, and GitOps workflows using ArgoCDManage and operate Kubernetes-based environments (Amazon EKS)Collaborate with a global, remote-first team using asynchronous communicationContribute to code reviews, troubleshooting, and technology evaluationsWhat you'll haveProficiency in AWS and familiarity with a variety of servicesExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKSExperience with Terraform or a similar infrastructure-as-code toolSoftware development experience in Python and a web framework such as DjangoExperience working with Linux environmentsPrior experience in small, highly autonomous teamsStrong communication skills for asynchronous collaboration across multiple time zonesWhat will helpExperience with event-driven systems (e.g., AWS EventBridge)Experience building SaaS platforms and engaging product teamsProactive, problem-solving orientation with an interest in continual improvementPrior experience in globally distributed, follow-the-sun teamsBenefits & cultureKraken is a certified Great Place to Work in France, Germany, Spain, Japan, and Australia.
