Library Customer Service Assistant – Weekend Fixed Term (6 months)

Waimakariri Libraries is looking for a customer-focused assistant to work at Rangiora or Kaiapoi library on Saturdays and Sundays.

The role supports a welcoming, professional and responsive library environment and is fixed-term for 6 months.

Key Responsibilities

Access and download our eBook collection on patrons' digital devices.

Navigate online courses to help patrons advance their careers.

Recommend or help patrons find their next great read.

Assist with the delivery of fun and engaging programmes and events for all ages.

Ensure our collections are accessible and presented in an engaging manner.

Support a welcoming, professional and responsive library environment.

Qualifications & Attributes

A genuine interest and warmth for meeting, engaging with and helping people.

Ability to work in a busy, people-centred environment.

Capacity to meet deadlines and pick up new processes quickly.

Skills to assist customers with technology use.

An openness to continual professional learning.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Good physical fitness and the ability to be on your feet most of the day.

Working Hours

Saturday : 9 : 15 am – 2 : 15 pm

Sunday : 12 : 45 pm – 4 : 15 pm
