We're looking for an energetic individual to join our high-performing Finance team at Toi Moana | Bay of Plenty Regional Council in a 6-month fixed-term role as a Management Accountant.
This position is to provide cover while one of our valued team members is on extended leave.

This role is part of a team that provides for the Council's strategic accounting, management reporting and advisory functions.
At Toi Moana, the Management Accountant role exists to deliver the strategic focus of the management accounting function and supports Senior Management Accountants in delivering the Management Reporting function.
This includes supporting the delivery of Council's significant revenue streams and contributing to financial modelling for major projects, alongside providing a robust advisory and support service to management.
No two days will be the same.
In this role you will spend your time working closely with the Senior Management Accountant to :
Partner across our awesome organisation, talking finance and capital investments with industry leaders and managers of business units.
Learn about, work with, and visit the business units in the field – public transport, biosecurity, rivers and drainage, lake catchments, regional parks, fresh water, and environmental policy are a few.
Provide analysis for decision making and assist with the strategic focus of Council initiatives.
Improve finance systems and processes to benefit the entire organisation.

Candidates will shine if they :
Have a minimum of four to five years proven management accounting and business partnering experience, where they were highly respected by the business for their value add.
Are CA, CIMA or similar qualified desirable.
Depict exceptional EQ as well as IQ with the ability to initiate and engage effectively at all levels in an organisation.
Assist with peer reviewing work completed by other team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Council's standards and expectations
Exhibit comprehensive accounting knowledge and an understanding of subsidiary ledgers.
Have highly developed skills with Excel, Word, financial databases and writing financial commentary for target audiences.
Have experience using integrated financial systems.
Have a high level of enthusiasm, and excellent problem-solving skills; and
Can multi-task and prioritise to ensure deadlines are met.
