• About the Role :
• Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Waitemata Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Service is the largest provider of Mental Health and Addiction Services in New Zealand and comprises an integrated range of Adult Community and Inpatient Services, a comprehensive Infant Child Adolescent Youth and Family Mental Health Community Service, dedicated Maori (Whitiki Maurea) and Pacific Island (Takanga A Fohe) Community Mental Health Services and a range of specialist services such as Early Psychosis Intervention, Consultation Liaison / ED and Maternal Mental Health.

Waitemata is also responsible for the Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services and the Regional Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS).

With this wide range of services and with more than 95 FTE senior medical staff across the Service, there is a strong support system available for doctors at any stage of their career, and multiple opportunities to benefit from, or to provide, expert collegial advice and support.

Teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team are core functions of all our Senior Medical Officers.
