Please note that only short-listed candidates will be contacted.DESIGNATION : Senior / Editor, Tamil NewsRESPONSIBILITIESThe Senior / Editor will work with the Chief Editor in a senior editorial capacity, in any of the sub-teams - News, Digital and Current Affairs.Responsibilities : To primarily vet content produced across TV, radio and digital platformsTo work with the Chief Editor to manage audience engagement and training activities for the Tamil News and CA divisionHe / she will also manage other projects as directed by the Chief EditorThis role requires an experienced media professional who has a keen news sense and bilingual competencyYou must uphold and maintain the expected standards pertaining to accuracy, objectivity and timelinesYou must understand the role of Tamil News within the larger communityConnections with key personalities and newsmakers within the Indian / Tamil-speaking community are valuable assets for this positionYou need to be a team player as your role requires close coordination with your newsroom staff as well as colleagues from other departments across MediacorpQUALIFICATIONSGood University Degree preferably in Mass Communication or related fieldsAt least 15 years of experience in a related fieldHave a good command of Tamil, both written and spokenHave a strong interest in news and current affairsA dynamic individual who is a team player with good communications skillBe prepared to work irregular hours, public holidays and weekendsPossess tactful communication and interpersonal skills
