About the role

The Medical Assessment Unit is closely linked to the Emergency Department and other front-line services, so variety is a key element in this busy but rewarding role.

• Streamline the assessment and admission of non-critically ill medical patients
• Accommodate and care for patients for up to 24 - 36 hours
• Tend to patients during what can be a vulnerable and scary experience
• Provide a compassionate, friendly service with high standards of practice
• Rostered rotating shifts 24 / 7, including night shifts

About you

• Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
• Previous experience in an acute setting
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
• Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Adaptable, flexible, and solution-focused approach

Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the Pay Scale, between $81,683 and $106,739 p.a. dependant on relevant experience.
