Ashburton Meat Processors Limited operate year-round from our premises in Bridge Street, Newlands, Ashburton and provide humane, professional abattoir services while producing a range of meat cuts for several significant local and national clients.
We are a three species plant, processing beef, lamb and pigs.
We pride ourselves on our attention to animal welfare, on-time (and to specification) supply of products, food safety and the safety of our team members.
Role Description
As the Quality & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Quality and Compliance function, aligned with AMP's purpose, vision and values.
You will be accountable for integrating and delivering quality and compliance outcomes, whilst maintaining customer satisfaction, optimal productivity and effective utilisation of people, processes and plant.
Core competencies are measured around driving results, engagement, customer focus, with a collaborative, resilient and courageous approach.
We don't expect you to do this on your own though!
You will be supported by our experienced operations leadership team, which provides opportunities to utilise knowledge and experience for improving quality performance along with delivering a high level of compliance standards.

Qualifications
Verifiable experience within the Meat Processing industry, in Process or Quality Management roles with relevant qualifications and / or a minimum of three years' industry leadership experience.
Verifiable hands-on leadership experience of teams with effective communication skills (across multiple functions and all levels of an organisation).
Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
Demonstrated ability to understand (and when required create / update) documentation in any of the above-mentioned systems.
Demonstrated ability to work on a variety of unconnected projects with a result-focused orientation, a logical thinker and good problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to set and follow through with expectations and commitments.
Demonstrated ability for forward planning in short, medium- and longer-term cycles.
Demonstrated knowledge of Statistical Process Control, lean principles, and / or Six Sigma methodology.
