The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients, assisting nursing and medical staff in delivering person-centred care in a safe, respectful, and professional manner.This is an agency role and salary will match HSE Scale for August
- Responsibilities of Healthcare AssistantAssist patients with personal care needs including washing, dressing, mobility, eating, and toileting.Support nursing staff in monitoring patients' condition — including temperature, pulse, respiration, and fluid intake / output.Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and privacy at all times.Support the safe moving and handling of patients using appropriate equipment and techniques.Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients.Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions to the nurse in charge.Help with serving meals and assisting patients who require help with feeding.Record information accurately in patient charts and reports.Participate in infection prevention and control practices.Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to promote patient wellbeing and recovery.Requirements of Healthcare AssistantQQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support (or equivalent recognised healthcare qualification).
Minimum of 6 months' experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar healthcare environment would be desirable.Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
