About the Role
We seeking a dedicated and highly organised administrator to join our friendly and supportive Anatomical Pathology Laboratory team. This role plays a vital part in providing administration support to Pathologists, Scientists and Technicians working onsite in the Histology Laboratory Office at Waikato Hospital.
Key responsibilities of the role :
General administration tasks for department
Provide support to MDM Coordinator and clinical meetings
Resource planner and data entry for payroll
Administration of department duty rosters
Stock management, ordering, receipt of goods for the department
Point of contact for suppliers
Administration of laboratory reports, case referrals and expert reviews
Monitoring department mailbox, responding to queries and problem solving
Meetings coordination and minute taking
Administration support for recruitment and credentialing

About the Service
Our team of pathologists, scientists and technicians are supported by a modern, well equipped histology and cytology laboratory. We have access to a wide range of diagnostic stains and techniques. The Waikato Hospital Anatomical Pathology Laboratory processes over 20,000 surgical cases and over 2000 cytology cases per year.

Skills and experience youll need to be considered for the role :
Excellent administration, customer service and interpersonal skills

Demonstrates a perceptive and proactive approach to administration
Reliable and trusted
A positive can do attitude with genuine desire to assist others
Experience in an administration role within a healthcare setting preferred
Proven knowledge of Windows-based applications and quick to learn new applications / systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven organisational skills, attention to detail and problem solving skills
Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise appropriately
Competency with Te Ao Maori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
