About the role

This is an exciting opportunity within our Waikato Blood Bank for an experienced, registered Medical Laboratory Scientist looking to develop further in a leadership role.

In this role you will work with the Team Leader and one other Supervising Scientist, to enhance the technical and scientific aspects of the work performed in the laboratory by supervising and coordinating the work to ensure all processes and procedures comply with GMP, GLP and the relevant SOPs.

This is a pivot role within the team, providing improved supervision of daily operations, particularly in the Dispensing, Tissue Bank, and Cellular Therapy areas, while coaching others and offering critical support and coverage for core functions as needed.

Salary :

starting from $117,420 - $122,570 depending on skills and experience.

Qualifications and requirements

At least 5 years' experience in Blood Bank

Experience in Tissue Banking, Cellular Therapy, and Equipment Management

Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist

Ability to consult, train and provide constructive feedback to team members

Knowledge of quality standards, accreditation, licensing and health and safety requirements

Willingness to work a combination of shifts to meet laboratory needs
