Te Manawa is seeking a new Senior Manager Exhibitions. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your experience in exhibition delivery and people leading to the fore.
You will be responsible for resourcing and guiding the mahi of our Exhibition Designer and Technicians, supporting them in their contributions to our varied exhibition programme across Art, Heritage and Science. Working closely with our Senior Manager Curatorial and Collections, you’ll be a champion of cross-team collaboration, a scheduling-superstar and time-management marvel, with the ability to prioritise resourcing and budgets to juggle our busy calendar with innovation and flexibility.
We’re looking for someone with 4+ years of practical experience in GLAM exhibition making—or a related industry—with the ability to think creatively and problem-solve. An understanding of Te Tiriti, project management, design principles, AV technology and collection care, alongside a willingness to get your hands dirty on the exhibition floor when needed, would all be a plus!
This is a senior role that sits on our Management Team. You’ll contribute to the effective kaitiakitanga of Te Manawa through leadership, collaboration and commitment to our organisation’s strategic goals and vision.

Hours of Work
The job holder will be expected to work the hours necessary to fulfil the obligations of the position to the expected standard. This is anticipated to be around 40 hours per week but will depend on the demands of the position at any given time.
