The learning support coordinator will ensure students with moderate learning and behaviour challenges are well supported to engage and experience success in the classroom and at school.
We are seeking an experienced registered teacher who has a passion for working with, and supporting primary age students with the ability to work alongside their teachers, families, and whanau.
This position is for 0.2 FTTE fixed-term part-time.
Days are negotiable.
You will support teacher practice and the coordination of several stakeholders within and outside of the school, including building relationships with other learning support coordinators in the cluster.
We would like you to use culturally responsive pedagogy, be student-focused, organised, flexible, and easy to work with, and have a strong background in neurodiversity.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Supporting the school to meet the needs of all learners
Providing support to classroom teachers, other professionals, and parents to identify students' needs early and respond in a timely manner with the right support
Supporting teachers to ensure that students receiving specialist support have an individual learning plan
Demonstrating significant knowledge of teaching and learning, supporting the Principal in leading curriculum design and implementation in LSC role
Working with the Principal to lead analysis of school-wide data, which can be used to inform the review of school programmes.
