2026 Visual Arts Teacher- Photography

Rangitoto College invites applications for a full-time permanent position as an art teacher, in the Visual Arts Department, commencing Term 1 2025, preferably a Photography specialist. Please state any further media or subject specialities.

Expectations and Environment

We seek an innovative and enthusiastic teacher who demonstrates a deep engagement with the visual arts, as well as pedagogy. First year teachers are welcome to apply and take advantage of the College’s excellent PCT programme. The department is collegial, collaborative, creative, and successful, with passionate teachers who specialise in a range of media. Large (for an art department), we consider our diversity to be our strength.

Responsibilities

The right candidate will be an art teacher who is proven to be effective, with experience teaching curricula in Photography to NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship, excellent classroom routines and artist model knowledge, and the ability to break down art techniques to support a range of abilities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience teaching Photography curricula to NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship
