The Role
We’re seeking an experienced accountant to join our team as our Finance Controller. Initially, you’ll take full ownership for all financial operations, reporting, and day to day transactions, working closely with our fractional Finance partner, Oxygen Advisors to bring these responsibilities inhouse. We will continue to build the finance team as we reach growth milestones.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for :
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Own the full‑cycle accounting including AR, AP, payroll, and month‑end close processes
- Own forecasting, budget planning and cashflow management
- Prepare monthly management reports
- Implement and optimise financial systems, tools and processes
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
- Coordinate tax filings with external advisors
- Equity administration
- Vendor set‑up forms for new customers
- Support preparation of board reports
Strategic Finance & Analysis
Provide variance analysis and insights on financial performance vs. budgetSupport pricing decisions and contract analysis for key customer dealsAnalyse unit economics, customer metrics, and SaaS performance indicatorsSupport fundraising activities including investor reporting and due diligence supportCustomer Billing and Receivables
Take ownership of customer billing, working closely with the Sales and Customer team.Accounts receivable - monthly statement generation, collection of receipts and reconciliations.Reconciliation between Xero and Chargebee for completenessARR management and reportingCommercial
Bridging the gap between the Commercial team and the sales team; making recommendations around commercial and business risks proposed in customer contractsManaging the company’s insurance programmeQualifications
6 years of progressive accounting experience in high‑growth startups or scale‑upsChartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent a plusStrong technical accounting knowledge and experienceAdvanced Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience with financial modellingHighly proficient with XeroExperience with Chargebee and Hubspot preferredProven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environmentFamiliarity with SaaS metrics and business modelsExperience with equity management and stock option administrationKnowledge of fundraising processes and investor relationsThis is your chance to help build something meaningful - technology that genuinely makes construction better while working with people who care about doing great work.
