The Employment Court seeks a Court Registry Officer in Auckland to manage court cases, support hearings, and liaise with legal professionals in a dynamic environment.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include :
Managing court cases from filing to disposition, including receiving and processing documents
Providing organised case management to ensure timely hearings
Liaising with legal professionals and parties regarding proceedings
Updating Judges and parties on case status
Maintaining case files and electronic case management systems
Completing post-hearing actions, including proofreading judgments
Facilitating court hearings by introducing Judges in English and Te Reo Maori
Working closely with Judges, hearing participants, counsel, and parties
General court administration and possible travel as required
Scheduling case events and liaising with Judges and parties to ensure preparedness
Supporting the team with general office administration
About You
The company is looking for :
Tertiary qualification in law or relevant work experience is an advantage
Strong interpersonal skills for working with Judges, legal professionals, and self-represented parties
Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Well-developed written and oral communication skills
Full driving license and ability to travel is desirable
Detail-oriented and observant with accurate case information management
Self-aware and confident working individually and in teams across various situations
Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities efficiently
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court processes
Resilience to handle sensitive cases and high-volume work
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range : $59,729 to $80,794, based on skills and experience
4.4 weeks holiday leave (permanent)
