About the Role

This Auto Electrician role will be responsible for providing auto electrical repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to the company’s fleet of buses, vessels, resort vehicles and plant and equipment. The main goal is to keep our fleet fully operational so we can continue to provide all our guests an amazing experience in comfort and safety as they venture around the island and enjoy the beauty of K'gari.

This is a permanent basis opportunity working 76 hours per fortnight based in our Urangan, workshop. You must be living in the Hervey Bay area in Queensland Australia and be available to commute to K'gari from time to time.

Working on the doorstep of K'gari, a World Heritage listed island off Australia’s Eastern Queensland coast, it is the world’s largest sand island, stretching over 120km. With cool towering rainforests to walk through and explore, over 100 freshwater lakes to swim in, including the iconic Lake McKenzie and Lake Wabby, and an amazing beach highway, where else would you rather be?

Key Role Requirements

  • Actively follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures and practices consistent with legislative requirements and regulations.
  • Provide maintenance and repairs to electrical systems on buses, vehicles, plant & equipment, vessels and a range of different vehicles
  • Repair or replace defective wiring in ignition, lighting, airconditioning, and safety control systems
  • Test and install electrical equipment such as gauges, lighting, alternators, and starter motors in all fleet vehicle and equipment
  • Install electrically operated accessories in all fleet and equipment

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of mechanical workshop operations and associated equipment
  • Hold a current MR licence or able to obtain
  • 3-5 years' experience, with trade certification
  • Extensive air condition experience
  • Physically fit
