Mental Health Support Worker - Paraparaumu

Full time hours

Must have availability to work the full range of rostered shifts; mornings, evenings and overnight wakeover shifts.

Availability for regular weekend shifts is required.

IDEA Services runs a small mental health service offering supported accommodation to individuals with high or complex needs with mental health challenges.

The team provides around the clock support with the expertise and training to work with people who have mental health and disability diagnoses.

The supported accommodation service is a cluster of six homes in a neighbourhood near Raumati beach.

Staff work across the site, supporting residents to set goals, manage medication, complete activities of daily living, and explore new possibilities for growth and development.

We work closely with local health and support services and the people we support take an active part in decision-making through meetings and committees.

No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued.

Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Flexibility to work rostered shifts.

A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.

Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.

A Full NZ driver's license.
