- Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer
- to join our IT team in a full time permanent role based in our national office in Wellington.In this role, you'll be part of a supportive and dynamic team dedicated to safeguarding and modernising New Zealand's electoral processes. Your broad technical engineering skills will be crucial in ensuring the integrity of our electoral system, driving meaningful change, and shaping the future of democracy with technology.
- The salary range for this role is :
- $108,140 - $120,160 (100%), reflecting your skills and experience.
- Your Key Responsibilities will be :
- Technical Leadership :
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain the Commission's IT infrastructure and cloud services.
- Operational Excellence :
- Ensure smooth, secure, and reliable operations across networks, systems, security, identity management, information management, and desktop environments

- Lead project-led testing of infrastructure and cloud solutions with a focus on performance, integration, and security.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for transitioning infrastructure products and services into operational production.
- Provide recommendations for continuous process improvement and champion solutions that enhance business performance and deliver optimal outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and feedback to team members.
- Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation.

- 5-10 years of experience
- across diverse IT infrastructure, operational systems, and enterprise technologies.
- Expertise in a broad range of technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune, AutoPilot, Cloudflare and Microsoft M365 (MS Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive) as well as Commission device configurations (MS Windows 11 laptops) and mobile platforms (Android and IOS).
- Proven experience in developing, automating, and maintaining technical processes with proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively resolve complex technical issues.
- A collaborative mindset, working seamlessly across teams to support projects and optimise.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring technical professionals and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to a supportive and engaging team environment, where everyone's contributions and ideas are valued, paired with a courteous and confident communication style.
- A relevant tertiary or industry qualification.
