We have a great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the team. The purpose of this role is to lead and deliver transport infrastructure projects and support NZ Transport Agency’s vision of efficiently delivering an integrated, safe, responsive, and sustainable transport system, creating great journeys across the motu and keeping New Zealand moving.

You will establish and nurture close collaboration with all partners, including local iwi, contractors and consultants, ensuring that outcomes are best for the project and aligned with NZ Transport Agency’s desired outcomes. This is a multi‑faced role requiring strong leadership qualities to manage our suppliers’ project teams. Working in the Project Delivery team, you’ll collaborate and engage with teams across NZTA, local authorities, and a variety of stakeholders and development partners. You will work lead projects through various stages – investment case development, planning, procurement, detailed design and physical works as required – leading a project team of internal and / or external professional people.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technical leadership across significant projects that deliver tangible benefits for the wider community.
• Lead projects through multiple stages including investment case development, planning, procurement, detailed design and physical works.
• Ensure project outcomes align with NZTA desired outcomes and best practices.
• Manage and nurture close collaboration with local iwi, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Oversee and manage supplier project teams and contract delivery.

Qualifications

We are looking to appoint between NZ$110,000 – NZ$130,000 depending on skills and experience.
