Technical Analyst (Forestry)

$90,000 – $95,000 per year (Full Time Basis)

DESCRIPTION : The Technical Analyst will work as a member of the Forest Assets team and have responsibilities involving; data recording and analysis, GIS and Lidar data processing and analysis, developing and recording forest work schedules, maintaining valuation inputs, environmental management system and ETS data.

The role is expected to provide data management and analysis to support the wide scope of the Forest Assets’ functions’ contributing primarily to planning, technical and analytical capability with a focus on data system development and system improvement.

LOCATION and WORK COMMITMENT

The position is located in the central Dunedin Office with parking available.

Part time position (30 hours per week)with a degree of work from home flexibility.

POSITION OBJECTIVES :

The personal objectives of the position are :

To maintain and develop a high standard of technical data recording, accuracy and analysis in order to improve and support Company performance.

To support both field operations and office-based planning, management and compliance activities through data provision and analysis.

To maintain a focus on performance improvement activities so that the safety, productivity, quality and compliance aspects of the Company’s Forest estate is enhanced.

To ensure assigned tasks are performed on time, within budget and as directed.

To report and communicate results to ensure best use is made of information at hand. To undertake professional development and utilise professional skills on the job.

Key Tasks / Objectives :

• Ensure the company “LRM database” forest stand record system is maintained with accurate and up to date data.
• Prepare forest operation work schedules and establish work programs with other team members, monitor completion and record results.
• Assist with GIS data analysis and Lidar data processing.
• Preparation and analysis of forest measurement and operations’ quality control data, reporting results.
• Assisting with forest description activities, including both spatial and operational records data, management and analysis.
• Provide supporting data for forest modelling, valuation and scheduling.
• Assist in developing an EMS including environmental monitoring and reporting data, and assistance with maintaining the Company’s FSC certification.
• Chemical reconciliation and reporting.
• Cost of Bush data recording, reconciliation and monthly reporting
• Assistance with ETS modelling, accounting and compliance.
• Any other tasks as designated by the Chief Executive Officer or Technical Services Manager.
