Go back East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation TrustSenior Administrator - Respiratory PhysiologyThe closing date is 07 October 2025To update the Respiratory Co-ordinator on clinic capacity.To appoint diagnostic outpatients from GP and Consultant referrals for appropriate investigations in order of clinical need.Maintain a waiting list of patients waiting for investigations, who can't be appointed straight away.Appoint extra clinics to help bring the waiting times down to be acceptable level.Answering telephone queries and if necessary transferring calls to an appropriate member of staff.To cover reception when needed.To order office stationery when needed.To undertake other clerical duties as required, appropriate to the grading.Work within the constraints of the DATA Protection Act and attend all mandatory training as required.To attend all in-house training courses as required, enabling the delivery of new service developments / changes.Main duties of the jobKEY RESULT AREASTo supervise the admin staff to provide high quality support to admin and clinical staff when needed.To train admin staff on cancel and rebooking patients, putting patients on the waiting list, booking from the waiting list.To provide support to the Respiratory Co-ordinator when needed.To assist the Respiratory Co-ordinator with clinic maintenance and the DM01, when needed.To have action plans in place regarding breach patients.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.

Maths and English grades A-C essentialRSA stage III typing or proven keyboard skills.Microsoft office including excel and PowerPointSecretarial qualifications and medical secretary qualificationsSkills and experienceExperience of a range of work procedures and practicesMinimum 2 years secretarial experience or working for and within a team.Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines using own initiativeAble to remain calm in a busy environment when working under pressureAble to make judgements involving a range of facts, that require analysis.Ability to organise a number of complex activities.Good interpersonal skills.Excellent organisations skillsPrevious experience of NHSSkills in NHS computer softwareExperience of managing patient pathways and waiting listsPersonal / professional attributesPrevious experience customer service, Office and SecretaryCustomer Service CourseTo contribute to the improvement of the quality of service provideDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust
