This well-established New Zealand systems integrator is known for delivering high-quality automation, control systems, and software solutions across key industries including dairy, food & beverage, water, manufacturing, and utilities. With a growing presence in Auckland, they are investing in a dedicated service function to support project delivery teams and enhance client responsiveness. This is a great opportunity to step into a pivotal role at a key time in the company’s development.

About the Role

You’ll start in a dual position—roughly 50 / 50 between project delivery and service support. Over time, you’ll transition into a full-time Service Lead, taking ownership of service calls, client communication, and on-site troubleshooting while supporting a high-performing engineering team. You’ll be hands-on with control systems and automation platforms, while also managing client expectations and coordinating the delivery of timely technical support. This is a client-facing, call-out-based position ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems and building relationships.

Skills and Experience

  • We’re looking for someone who brings :
  • Background as an electrician or instrumentation technician, now focused on automation
  • EWRB Electrician or EE license ideally. EST / Limited license also of interest
  • 5–7 years’ industry experience, including commissioning and troubleshooting
  • PLC and HMI experience with platforms like Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or Beckhoff
  • A proactive and professional approach to client interaction
  • Strong communication skills and leadership potential
  • Willingness to travel and participate in a service roster

Bonus if you also have :

  • SCADA, RTU, robotics or vision system experience
  • Machine safety certification (or willingness to complete training)
  • Project coordination or mentoring experience
