Our links with the University of Otago and affiliation with the Otago Medical School means that you are an honorary lecturer to Medical Students and there is a chance to be involved in research.

We also provide training to registrars from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and enjoy helping them on their journey towards becoming a future ophthalmologist and often host the 'Part 2' course prep in the department.We are seeking an Ophthalmologist that knows the New Zealand health system intricately and the constraints we face within ophthalmology - so we welcome applications from a forward thinking, innovative ophthalmologist that loves challenges and working in a busy department.

This role is primarily based in Dunedin but some travel across the Southern District is expected.

You will be expected to participate in the 1 : 6 on call roster, routine ophthalmology clinics, theatre and some outreach clinics.
