SEO & AI Discoverability Lead
As the SEO & AI Discoverability Lead at Flight, you will help our clients be found, understood, and trusted across every search and discovery platform. You will focus on getting the fundamentals right with proven SEO techniques while driving ongoing experimentation in how brands appear, perform, and are recommended within AI-driven ecosystems such as \"Google SGE\", Bing Copilot, and Perplexity.
This role combines technical excellence with curiosity and commercial awareness. You will guide clients through both the essential and the emerging, delivering measurable growth through strong SEO foundations and exploring new frontiers in generative search and discoverability.
Key Responsibilities
- Search Fundamentals and Technical Excellence
Lead the creation and delivery of best-practice SEO strategies that strengthen client visibility and performance.
Conduct detailed audits to identify and resolve technical issues that limit discoverability.Build data-backed frameworks that set clients up for long-term organic growth and sustained relevance.Ensure every client site is technically sound, fast, accessible, and structured for visibility.AI and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)
Help clients gain visibility within AI-driven discovery platforms such as \"Google SGE\", Bing Copilot, and Perplexity.Test and implement entity-based and semantic strategies to ensure brands are recognised and referenced by AI systems.Monitor client presence across generative engines and lead improvements through ongoing experimentation.Share insights and frameworks that help clients stay ahead as search evolves.Content and Experience Alignment
Work with clients and internal teams to align SEO and CRO across every stage of the customer journey.Use data and behavioural insights to inform client content strategies that respond to user intent and generative AI output.Partner with UX and design to create content experiences that engage users and drive measurable business results.Performance Measurement and Reporting
Track key metrics for each client, including visibility, engagement, and conversions, using analytics and search tools.Report clearly on progress, connecting SEO and AI visibility to commercial outcomes.Provide actionable recommendations that help clients make confident, data-informed decisions.Client Partnership and Enablement
Act as the lead SEO advisor for your client portfolio, building trust through clarity, reliability, and results.Educate and empower clients through workshops, audits, and insights that make SEO approachable and actionable.Translate complex search and AI concepts into meaningful business value that supports client success.Collaboration and Leadership
Partner with internal design, development, and marketing teams to ensure discoverability is integrated into every client engagement.Mentor Flight team members and support clients in understanding how traditional SEO and AI-driven optimisation work together.Contribute to Flight’s position as a trusted, ethical, and forward-thinking digital partner.What It Takes to Be Successful
5+ years of hands-on SEO experience with a strong foundation in technical, on-page, and content optimisation.Proven success improving client visibility, traffic, and conversions through strategic SEO initiatives.Curiosity and confidence in testing new approaches within AI-driven search and generative engines.Strong understanding of structured data, entity optimisation, and semantic search.Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and Screaming Frog.Excellent communicator who can simplify complex ideas and build trusted client relationships.Strategic thinker who connects technical improvement to meaningful client outcomes.Culture and Values
