Responsibilities
Work as a regulator of the Residential Tenancies Act, promoting compliance and investigating non‑complianceDesign and recommend actions to ensure compliance with tenancy lawsEnsure quality and consistency of investigations in line with Ministry’s policy frameworkCollaborate with iwi, hapu, non‑profit and government agencies to build stakeholder partnershipsProvide professional communication and support to tenants and landlordsQualifications & Skills
Skills and experience required :
Experience and knowledge of regulatory and compliance environmentsStrong compliance skills : gathering, researching, analysing information; knowledge of enforcement processesPlanning and undertaking investigative and enforcement processes including report writingUnderstanding of government and constitutional environmentInvestigative skills : gathering, analysing information; knowledge of the prosecution processPlanning operations, applying risk assessment methodologyUse of tactical communication skills in confrontational situations and ability to work across culturesExperience in making enforcement decisions and utilizing enforcement tools to resolve breachesLegal right to live and work in New Zealand and a full NZ Class One driver’s licenceApplication Information
