Company Overview
We specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic communications equipment in telecommunications networks and internet supply systems.
We are currently seeking skilled Telecommunication Technicians to join us.
Job Requirements
At least 1 year of relevant industry experience or a Level 3 qualification in Telecommunications or a related field.
WTC1, WTC3, TMO-P, PTN certifications.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Fibre Installation : Installing fibre optic cables from the network distribution point to customer premises; running and securing cables underground or aerial from boundary points or poles to properties.
Testing and Diagnostics : Performing tests on fibre optic cables (multi-mode and single-mode) to ensure they meet certification standards; diagnosing and troubleshooting issues in fibre optic connections, cabling or equipment; using specialised tools to identify and resolve faults.
Customer Service and Support : Explaining installation procedures and ensuring customer satisfaction; providing guidance to customers on use and functionality of installed services.
Networking Setup : Setting up and configuring customer LANs and other networking equipment in accordance with industry specifications; connecting fibre optic cables to network devices such as routers, modems, and ONTs.
Site Surveys and Documentation : Conducting site surveys to assess installation requirements and documenting findings; preparing reports on network configurations, user requirements, and completed work.
Infrastructure and Maintenance : Splicing, terminating, and connecting fibre optic cables to maintain continuity and quality; maintaining and repairing existing fibre installations and equipment as required.
Safety and Compliance : Ensuring all work complies with health and safety standards and regulations; following company procedures for safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.
Additional Responsibilities : Coordinating with team members and supervisors; performing consenting work, gaining permission for installations where necessary; handling and managing tools, equipment, and inventory; undertaking other tasks as assigned by the employer.
Work Location and Hours
You will be working in the Whanganui and Taranaki area.
We require you to work a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 40 hours.
The role is full-time and permanent.
We operate Monday to Friday between 7 : 30 am and 5 : 00 pm.
Compensation
We offer a wage rate between NZD $28 to $35 per hour.
