About the role

Are you passionate about supporting students and enhancing their academic journey?

The Division of STEM at the University of Waikato is seeking a proactive and dedicated Senior Student Advisor to join our administrative team.

In this pivotal role, you'll play a key part in delivering a high-quality, student-focused experience across the full student lifecycle from enquiry and application through to enrolment, progression, and completion.

Working closely with the Division Director, academic staff, and central Student Services teams, you'll help ensure that our administrative processes are efficient, transparent, and inclusive, enabling students to thrive.

You'll also contribute to student engagement and wellbeing initiatives, fostering a supportive and empowering environment where every student feels valued and equipped to succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our STEM students while developing your career within a dynamic and collaborative team.

Salary will be in the range of $85,279 to $97,532 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.

These roles are full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus in Hamilton.

You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing multiple priorities with accuracy, initiative, and discretion.

You have excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, and are committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive, and supportive student experience.

Familiarity with university systems, degree regulations, and student administration is highly valued, along with a genuine interest in tertiary education and the wellbeing of students from diverse backgrounds.

The Division of STEM comprises Au Reikura School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Te Kura Mata-Ao School of Engineering, and Te Aka Matutatua School of Science.

The Division also has Te Tumu Whakaora Taiao - the Environmental Research Institute, Te Ipu o te Mahara - the Artificial Intelligence Institute, and commercial / equipment units, which embody staff and research activities.
