Family Worker‑Counsellor – Presbyterian Support Northern

Join to apply for the Family Worker‑Counsellor role at Presbyterian Support Northern . This is a part‑time fixed‑term contract until June 2026 (30 hours per week). The role sees you engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.

Qualifications & Experience

• A qualified Counsellor registered with NZAC
• Familiar with strength‑based practice principles
• Competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
• Able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
• A person who thrives in a busy multi‑disciplinary team
• Enjoy group facilitation
• Show exemplary professional practice
• Have experience in, and can evidence effectively, working with Māori families
• Have outstanding communication and people skills
• Have excellent family support, assessment and counselling abilities
