The Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai (DOC) serves to protect and restore nature across Aotearoa. When nature thrives, we all thrive. The Department has recently made exciting changes in how we deliver our work to achieve conservation outcomes, including a new role : Senior Statutory Advisor. Reporting to the Statutory and Community Manager, you’ll work across the region providing subject matter expertise to advise and deliver on permissions, statutory and strategic issues resulting in better outcomes for conservation. The position will be focussed on using your expertise to provide advice to resolve complex strategic issues and opportunities, contributing to the continuous improvement of our regulatory process as aligned to the region’s work programme, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of conservation in a statutory environment, and identifying critical issues and risks and ensuring they are managed effectively.
