Casual Registered Nurse (Oncology)

Overview

We are looking for a casual Oncology Registered Nurse to join our Mercy Cancer Care team working at our new remote oncology clinic in Invercargill. In this role, you will work independently on-site while providing safe, effective and evidenced-based nursing care centred around excellent patient care. You will report to and work closely with the Mercy Cancer Care team in Dunedin to support local chemotherapy delivery, reducing the need for patients to travel to Dunedin. This is a casual role which means hours are offered on an as and when required basis.

Some travel to Mercy Cancer Care Dunedin will be required for on-site orientation and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimum patient care in accordance with Mercy Hospital Shared Purpose and Values
• Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate
• Ensure patient-centred care based on comprehensive patient assessment
• Comply with all relevant nursing legislation, policies and regulations
• Manage resources efficiently and effectively to meet patient health care needs

Qualifications and Skills

To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.
