The role
As Senior Advisor – Information Systems, you will report to the Unit Manager Data and Information Management and work in close partnership with the Data and Information Management team.
You will provide advanced operational support for information management systems and processes, bridging technical operations and advisory functions.
You will support the delivery of best practice data and information management, contribute to continuous improvement, and provide specialist advice.
You will coach and support junior team members, work closely with senior technical staff and partner with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
The suite of MS365 tools and systems is evolving rapidly along with the need to integrate with other systems and platforms.
The position will require continuous learning and the ability to research problems and find innovative solutions.
Key responsibilities
Provide advanced Information Management System support – ensuring all systems related to information management are stable, secure and meet Stats NZ requirements.
Maintain a variety of systems that support data and information management, contribute to regular projects to automate and / or refine processes, and develop solutions to issues.
Continuously work towards automation and continuous service improvement.
Mentor and provide support to other team members.
Partner with internal and external customers and stakeholders to provide best-practice data and information management advice, support and system solutions that meet their needs.
Research complex issues and develop practical solutions.
Lead work in your practice area of information management systems.
What you bring
Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in information management or information technology.
Minimum 3 years' experience administering and leading the provision of Information Management services through MS365 tools.
Experience in operational support for information management systems.
Excellent customer engagement skills.
Ability to translate customer needs or requirements into practical initiatives.
Experience coaching or mentoring junior staff.
Strong written and oral communication skills suitable for a varied audience in a corporate setting.
Knowledge or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Maori.
Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity and inclusion.
