We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical with expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical components, and software integration. This hands-on individual contributor role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing pump systems with an emphasis on cost, quality, and manufacturability. The ideal candidate will initially focus on technical execution, with key external responsibilities working with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) is essential, with CFD experience as a bonus. This role requires delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective pump solutions and components.
Responsibilities
- System Design and Optimization : Design and development of pump systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software components while prioritizing design for cost, quality, and manufacturability (DFM).
- Research Support : Support research team with respect to mechanical components, innovation on designs, and assembly of prototypes.
- Hands-On Engineering : Perform detailed analysis, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of pump systems, including mechanical components, electrical systems (e.g., motors, VFDs), and embedded software controls.
- Cost and Quality Focus : Incorporate cost-effective design principles, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure manufacturability in all phases of design, production, and supply chain management.
- Technical Execution : Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks) to create detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for pump systems and components, and such other products or prototypes as designated.
- Troubleshooting and Testing : Conduct hands-on testing, validation, and root cause analysis for pump system performance issues, implementing solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement improvements in design, manufacturing, and supply chain processes to reduce costs, enhance quality, and streamline production.
- Compliance and Standards : Ensure all designs and processes comply with industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, IEEE) and regulatory requirements while maintaining manufacturability.
- Documentation : Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, cost analyses, and manufacturing instructions.
- Innovation : Leverage computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools, if experienced, to optimize pump performance and efficiency.
