About the Otaki to North Levin Project
The Otaki to North Levin project focuses on upgrading the transport link along State Highway 1 (SH1) between Otaki and North Levin to improve road safety, reduce congestion, enhance travel efficiency, and support regional economic growth.
In partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaupoko Tribal Authority, local hapu of Ngati Raukawa ki te Tonga, and the Horowhenua District Council, this project will be executed through a two-alliance approach.
Each alliance will be responsible for delivering a section of the road and associated works, ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive delivery.
This exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience, providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kapiti districts.
The project includes multiple large complex bridge structures plus a full interchange at Taraua Road, a half interchange north at Taylors Road, two roundabouts and approximately 4m m3 of complex earthworks significant, drainage infrastructure and a structural asphalt concrete pavement.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join us, to be based in Levin.
This exciting opportunity will have you working alongside a team of proficient and collaborative health and safety practitioners, all working to fulfil our goal of making sure all our people get home safe and healthy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide effective health and safety support and advice across the project
Lead and support high-quality incident investigations to implement timely and effective improvements
Proactively build and develop strong relationships with managers, workers, and subcontractors
Delivery of health and safety training
Undertaking site inspections and providing monitoring and coaching of operational personnel to increase their capability and effectiveness in managing site risks
Collating performance data to provide and maintain reporting
Championing project health and safety procedures and initiatives
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a construction health and safety environment.
You'll have strong experience in delivering health and safety investigations, monitoring, training and coaching, and a solid understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
To be successful you'll be a team player, have the ability to communicate effectively across a range of audiences, and able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
