Student Cadetship (Part Time - TAURANGA)Student opportunity - applicants must be in their 2nd or 3rd year of tertiary study in 2026.
A relevant field of study is preferred (Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management).
Based in Tauranga - the role will require work to be performed in Tauranga.
The Cadetship is for 12 months from November 2025 - November 2026.Part time hours - 12 hours of work will be guaranteed each week, with additional hours available by mutual arrangement.Port of Tauranga is New Zealand's largest port and international freight gateway.
Our Container Terminal based at Sulphur Point offers a 24-hour, seven-day service for cargo handling & logistics services.The Terminal operates in a competitive environment and has established itself as a service of choice by consistently achieving productivity rates among the highest in the world.We are seeking an engaged and capable student working towards a Bachelor of Business with a passion for supply chain and logistics to join our team in a cadetship capacity.Over 12 months, you will learn how to undertake day-to-day logistic functions in our Receival & Delivery department with the aim of achieving the highest possible standards of customer service, safety, and operational efficiency.You will also have the opportunity to deliver on projects relating to our productivity, learning & development, and health & safety.Study in the field of Supply Chain Management would be an advantage but is not a requirement for the opportunity if you can demonstrate your desire to pursue a career in logistics, operations or shipping.The Cadetship will provide the opportunity to work within an operational roster between the hours of 5 : 45am and 6pm Monday – Saturday.We can guarantee a minimum of 12 paid hours per week, with the opportunity to pick up additional hours during university breaks.This will be a varied and exciting role which requires an individual who is self-motivated, diligent and organised.We're looking for someone who is : An excellent communicator who is positive and approachable;Motivated to learn new skills and actively contribute to a team;An innovative problem solver with great attention to detailConfident to work autonomously or as part of a team.Port of Tauranga is an alcohol and drug free workplace.
