Overview
We’re partnering with Goodman, New Zealand’s largest listed property investment entity, to recruit a Graduate Property Accountant to join their highly respected finance team based in Auckland.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting and tax processes, supporting month-end reporting, and maintaining full compliance with company policies.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of accurate recording of all entity transactions - including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and funding - to ensure financial integrity across the business.
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Prepare and submit Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns in full compliance with statutory requirements.
- Record all property-related transactions such as straight-line rent adjustments, leasing cost amortisation, leasing incentive amortisation, accruals, prepayments, and operating expense recoveries.
- Support variance analysis by comparing actual results against budgets and participate in meetings with Property Managers to discuss findings and provide insights.
- Review new lease setups, renewals, and terminations to ensure all information is accurately captured in the financial systems.
- Collaborate with the Property Services team to prepare annual property operating expense budgets and assist with the year-end reconciliation process.
- Manage employee expense claims and credit card transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and prompt processing.
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements regularly, following up on outstanding items or discrepancies.
- Support payment run reviews and authorisations, and assist during acquisitions, disposals, developments, audits, or other transactions as required.
What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline - providing the essential foundation for success in this role.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for efficient data analysis and reporting.Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, building strong relationships across departments.Experience using accounting software such as Yardi (preferred), Xero or MYOB.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.A genuine commitment to core values such as determination, integrity, innovation, and sustainability.The ability to take initiative while remaining considerate of others’ perspectives.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for clear reporting, collaboration, and audit documentation.A methodical and organised approach to planning tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all responsibilities.What Sets Goodman Apart
