Inland Revenue plays a critical role in improving the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealanders. We do this by collecting and distributing money, we collect 80% of the Crown’s revenue and distribute social support payments.

Community Compliance provides a front-line service for our customers, improving voluntary compliance through the relationships they foster in our communities and the services we provide. The team’s work includes Tax Agents, Front of House & Kaitakawaenga Māori.
Community Compliance interacts with our customers face-to-face in our local communities and at IR's Front of House. Community Compliance officers are skilled across a range of tax accounts and compliance activities. They manage Front of House (FoH) in their locations and operate an appointment-only system, and introduce customers to self-service channels to assist them to avoid any unnecessary interactions with IR. They meet with customers in one-to-one and one-to-many situations in our local community.
