About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic nursing leaderto join our Operating Theatre team.
We are looking for a collaborative seniornurse with strong interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, the ability toproblem solve and respond in this fast-paced environment.
This OperatingTheatre CNM role has a focus and management of the Operating TheatreAssistants, along with an Operating Theatre link with Sterile Sciences amongstother portfolios.
This role will work closely with 3 other Charge NurseManagers to provide oversight of the Operating Theatre suite and another 2Charge Nurse Managers to form part of the Perioperative Nursing Service.
About the Service
Our Operating Theatre Suite at Christchurch Hospitalconsists of 28 theatres, providing acute and elective operating from allsurgical specialties on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis.
About You
As a Senior Nurse, you will haverecent Operating Theatre experience with proven leadership skills supportingdaily operational activity and patient flow.
Your expert communication, interpersonal skills andproven ability to engage people at all levels will see you workeffectively and efficiently with a diverse group of teams to lead yourteam to provide advanced clinical care and nursing expertise to thepatients and their families / whanau.
By utilising your advanced knowledge and clinicalskills in collaboration with nursing and medical staff, themultidisciplinary team and other external agencies you will contribute tothe development and maintenance of high quality evidenced based patientcare whilst also contributing to and developing, appropriate nursingstandards and quality initiatives.
You are able to problem solve and manage complexsituations as they arise, redistributing nursing resources to ensure theoptimal patient experience while supporting clinical delivery.
Yoursound interpersonal skills and impeccable management of complex situationsenable you to work alongside a variety of clinicians to ensure care isdelivered as required.
You have a comprehensive understanding ofcompetency in nursing and can work alongside individuals to supportprofessional development.
Experience in relevant management and / or leadershiproles with the ability to influence decision making and change.
Interpersonal skills and building relationships.
Strategic thinking and promoting interdisciplinarycollaboration.
Familiar with operational and financial management.
Competent user of Microsoft Office suite and otherrelevant software.
NZ Registered Nurse with a current AnnualPractising Certificate and hold a relevant Post Graduate qualification.
