Your role as a Veterinary Receptionist is vital to ensuring exceptional care and support in our emergency animal hospital.

ARC North (ARC Vets) in Albany are currently looking for a part time Receptionist for a fixed term of 6 months to help provide additional support.
As a Veterinary Receptionist at our busy emergency & specialist referral animal hospital, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.
This fast-paced environment requires you to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and maintain a calm demeanour under pressure.
Key Responsibilities :
Front Desk Management :
Greet clients and their pets with compassion and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere during stressful times.
Appointment Scheduling
: Efficiently manage a high volume of phone calls and in-person inquiries to schedule appointments and triage urgent cases.
Patient Records
: Accurately maintain and update patient records, ensuring all information is Patient Records current and accessible to veterinary staff.
Financial Transactions
: Handle billing, process payments, and discuss payment options with clients, ensuring transparency and clarity.
Team Collaboration
: Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to facilitate patient care, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork.
Crisis Management
: Remain composed and proactive during emergencies, assisting clients and staff in prioritizing urgent cases while maintaining order in the reception area.
Multi-tasking :
Balance various responsibilities, from answering phones to managing walk-in clients and ensuring the reception area is organized.

Our reception is open
7 : 30am – 8pm Monday to Friday
Set shifts will be available between the above hours.
Shifts currently available are Monday to Friday 9am – 1pm (there will be the occasional 4pm finish required).
Weekend and public holiday shifts may be required via prior arrangement
You will be employed to work at our ARC North (224 Albany Highway, Albany, Auckland) clinic but you will be trained at both sites (including 8 Hereford Street, Freemans Bay, Auckland).
Flexibility during the training period will be needed (both for location and shifts).
You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
$26 per hour starting wage.
