Civil Defence Emergency Management has four areas of activity, known as the '4Rs' : Reduction, Readiness, Response and Recovery. The Community Resilience Coordinator is an active member of the Council's Civil Defence and Emergency Management (CDEM) team, and key duties will include :

• Contributing to emergency management activities
• Supporting communities to develop community response plans
• Developing and delivering public education programmes
• Strengthening links between CDEM and communities
• Supporting the delivery of CDEM training
• Contributing to the development of guidance and tools to support work programmes
• Acting as duty CDEM officer on a rostered basis
• This role has on-duty obligations and after-hours and weekend work as a core part of the role. You will also be expected to work in an emergency operations centre occasionally, at short notice.
