Job description

TBI Health was created with a simple idea : to help people with pain, illness, or injury. TBI Health has come a long way since it began its journey in 2001. Since 2016 we partnered with Southern Cross and together we are passionate about ensuring our clients get the right help, at the right time, to get them back on track and living meaningful lives.

We are known to offer an attractive work environment to support staff wellbeing and growth. Our current focus is to continue our work on introducing new services for our staff to become involved in and ultimately, help enhance their careers. It is important to TBI Health to continue having an equity focused workplace culture where staff feel supported, enriched, and valued. As a NZ owned company, we position ourselves as a Te Tiriti partner and have an ongoing commitment to health equity for Māori. Join us on this transformational journey of delivering tailored and quality healthcare service which meets the needs of our diverse Aotearoa.

About The Mahi (role)

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step in your career? Come and join our energetic Whangārei team at TBI Health , a leading rehabilitation provider dedicated to making a real difference in people\'s lives.

We’re a close-knit, fun-loving team with a big vision for helping others, and we’re on the lookout for someone who shares our passion for supporting people in their rehabilitation journey.

As part of our Vocational and Community Services team, you\'ll be supporting clients across the Northland region. This diverse role includes :

  • Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS)
  • Rehab at home
  • Stay-at-work and Return-to-work services (SRNA)
  • Early Intervention programs

You’ll deliver services in clinics, in people’s homes, on worksites—and you’ll also have the option to work from home for admin tasks. We tailor roles to match your strengths and interests!

The role will include :

  • Conducting workplace assessments to support return to work after injury or illness
  • Providing education, training, and rehab in both home and workplace settings
  • Collaborating with GPs, specialists, employers, and whānau for seamless client support
  • Managing a varied caseload across ACC contracts, private clients, and early intervention services
  • Delivering OT assessments and in-home interventions to help clients thrive
  • Supporting junior staff
  • Benefits Of Joining TBI Health

We’re more than just a team—we’re whānau. At TBI Health, you’ll enjoy :

  • Competitive Salary
  • Sign on Bonus (T&C's apply)
  • Ability to earn for results achieved on top of base salary in form of KPI-based quarterly bonuses.
  • Subsidised health insurance through Southern Cross (must be employed for 20 or more hours to qualify)
  • Comprehensive internal training programmes available to help you grow and develop your career!
  • Inclusive culture which embraces and celebrates the diversity of its people.
  • Attend several training sessions during the year focused on teaching how to incorporate Māori tikanga in your role appropriately.
  • Annual contribution to career development which can be used to attend conferences and continue post-graduate studies.
  • Due to our size and spread, there are opportunities for career progression either locally or to other areas in NZ.
  • You will be provided with a laptop, mobile phone, and car for work use.
  • Birthday Leave (must be employed for 20 or more hours to qualify)
  • Wellbeing allowance currently valued at $250 (must be employed for 20 or more hours to qualify)
  • About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you :

  • Have 3-6+ years of clinical experience
  • Are passionate about Vocational and Community Services
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Have a current NZ practising certificate, professional body membership and indemnity insurance
  • Hold a clean, full NZ driver’s license
  • Are organised, proactive, and a confident communicator
  • Enjoy working both independently and in a team environment
  • Are culturally aware, and ideally familiar with Te Reo Māori (not essential)
  • Post-grad qualifications in occupational health or vocational rehab are a bonus—but not required. We provide full orientation and ongoing support to set you up for success.

    How To Apply

Applications close 30th of October 2025.

Please include a covering letter with your application. All correspondence will be kept strictly confidential. All applications must be submitted via the online process. Applications received directly via email may not be considered for shortlisting.

For further information or a coffee and a chat about the role please contact Arliah Davis on or email

We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates who meet the skills and qualifications criteria for the advertised role. Should you be successful in your application you will have the opportunity to inform us of any cultural or any other diversity needs you may.

We’ll be reviewing applications and interviewing as they come in—so don’t wait too long!
