Join us on Short Road Organics as a Stock Manager, you will work closely with a supportive farm manager in planning and executing farming operations and pasture management to optimise and improve operational processes and animal performance.
You will be working closely within a high performing team of five, who value communication and collaboration.
This is a hands-on, varied role where your days could include shifting stock, measuring pasture, maintaining accurate records in Farm IQ, or other essential farm tasks.
Your expertise in feed planning and maintaining animal health standards will be highly valued.

The Farm
Short Road Organics is a 290-hectare organic dairy support block dedicated to grazing replacement heifers for our Moutoa complex, which comprises seven organic dairy farms.
Each year, we welcome 700 heifers to our farm in late spring, weighing around 100kg.
These heifers stay with us for 18 months before returning to the Moutoa farms.
Short Road operates in conjunction with Cheltenham Downs, an
Cheltenham Downs finishes approximately 25,000 lambs year-round and includes a trade cattle component and cash cropping.
Labour is shared between the two properties to efficiently complete larger tasks such as weighing and animal health management.
About You
Experience with organic farming practices – a bonus
Proven experience in stock management
A solid understanding of feed budgeting and pasture management
Great time management and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Attention to detail and confidence using digital farm management tools (e.g. Farm IQ)
A genuine commitment to animal welfare and health & safety
A full NZ driver's licence
