We seek an expert and motivated leader for our te reo Maori department.
Our vision is to grow te reo Maori, te ao haka and significant success at all curriculum levels.
A willingness to contribute and participate in school-wide co-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities and events is essential.
About the role / Mo te turanga
An opportunity to teach te reo Maori and te ao haka at both junior and NCEA level
NZ teaching experience
a successful track record of teaching up to Level 3 NCEA and Scholarship level
strong time management and organisational skills
an ability to support others to develop their teaching practice
a strong understanding of NCEA and awareness of the future changes
proven capability in te reo Maori me ona tikanga, with strong classroom practice
knowledge of te ao haka / Maori performing arts, ideally with experience coaching / leading kapa haka or performance groups
strengths in building relationships with akonga, whanau and iwi partners
commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, inclusive education and equitable outcomes
capability to lead and advise on culturally responsive organisational practice, which supports Maori to succeed as Maori.
