Due to the retirement of a long-serving head of department, we are seeking a capable and enthusiastic leader for our science department.
About the role / Mo te turanga
This is an opportunity to shape the future of science learning at our school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and strategic development of science education across junior and senior levels, including NCEA.
This is a key middle leadership role within the school and a fantastic opportunity to shape a progressive and supportive learning environment.
lead planning and implementation of a knowledge-rich curriculum across all science disciplines
at least 5 years teaching experience (please do not apply if you do not have NZ teaching experience)
a successful track record of teaching up to Level 3 NCEA and Scholarship level
strong time management and organisational skills
excellent communication and collaboration skills
an ability to support others to develop their teaching practice
a strong understanding of NCEA and awareness of the future changes
a highly collaborative and collegial work environment
a whanau focussed, student centred school culture
