This role is critical in developing a positive safety culture as well as give you the opportunity to support and mentor a large FM contract that provides essential services to New Zealand.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the SHEQ Advisor's primary responsibility is to provide support and guidance on Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements on the Auckland Council contract, whilst working in a team environment that supports the entire Ventia business.
This role's core focus is in developing a culture of actively caring for each other and promoting safe behaviours and living SAFE FOR LIFE values
Key Accountabilities
Support, monitor and enforce a zero-tolerance approach to safety risks within the Full Facilities Contract
Provide a positive example of commitment to safety and mentor new team members as required
Drive, deliver and support Auckland Council's safety priorities and other safety programs / initiatives that promote a safe workplace
Provide safety technical advice to the operational team
Ensure that all lessons learnt and safety alerts are communicated to operational line managers in a timely fashion
ABOUT YOU
Relevant SHEQ qualification
Internal auditor qualifications (ISO
ICAM investigation methodology or equivalent
Knowledge of all current and pending Health, Safety and Environment legislation
Industry experience in a similar environmental and / or quality role, preferably in Facilities Management, services or construction
Ability to identify risk and opportunities and facilitate risk-based decision making
