Vehicle Modification Services

Overview

Modified vehicles enable people with a short- or long-term disability to travel in and / or safely operate a vehicle on New Zealand roads. When a client requires a vehicle modification, an ACC contracted Transport Assessor contacts a modifier for the development of a vehicle modification specification and quotation. Potential providers will need to demonstrate that they have the people, systems, and infrastructure to effectively contract and co-ordinate the delivery of vehicle modifications from specification to completion.

ACC is going to run an open application tender to contract with Suppliers, or consortia of Suppliers, able to modify vehicles with the proven capability, systems, and expertise to undertake either :

• Level 1 vehicle modifications, or
• Levels 1 and 2 vehicle modifications, or
• Levels 1, 2 and 3 vehicle modifications, or
• Levels 1, 2 and 3 vehicle modifications, including vehicle sourcing.

This service is required nationwide. Vehicles will be modified at a site appropriate to the needs of the modification process. Respondents will receive requests from an ACC contracted Transport Assessor for the development of a vehicle modification specification and quotation.
