About the Role
This innovative new Clinical Nurse Specialist role will suit a Registered Nurse who has experience in general adult medicine, and / or the health of older people and has a special interest in palliative care.
In this role the primary focus will be to work in partnership with medical colleagues to provide the clinical management of the in-patient ward.
Ensuring safe, timely, effective care and treatment for patients closer to home.
This role will also work in partnership within the wider Medical and Older Persons teams at Hastings Hospital and in CHB with the community Palliative Care teams and Aged Residential Care facilities, to coordinate and manage the care of people with complex health needs.
About the Team / Service / Location
Located around 50km from the Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings, the Central Hawkes Bay Health Centre provides health care to the community with six inpatient beds, outpatient department and community teams.
There is a well embedded integrated model of care on site including visiting services.
There are large pockets of need in the community, so your understanding of the healthcare and cultural needs of Maori and Pacific people and the ability to put this at the centre of all you do is vital to this role.

About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role :
Registered nurse with recent clinical experience, with at least five years of experience in medical and / or older persons nursing
A current practising certificate
Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Evidence of completion of a postgraduate qualification preferably a PG Diploma
Working at Health New Zealand
