Your Title : Applications EngineerLocation : Christchurch, New ZealandOur Department : Rotational Development Program Start Date : 12 January 2026Are you a motivated recent graduate looking to gain a breadth of experience across multiple areas of a global business?

Join our team as an Applications Engineer in a unique, two-year Rotational Development Program.

This program is designed to accelerate your development with an outcome focused on building well-rounded, future-focused talent within the Trimble product lifecycle.

You will develop a strong foundation in understanding our customers, our technology, and our approach to innovation, while contributing to products that transform the way the world works.You will have the opportunity to apply your recently gained knowledge in four different divisions spanning in 6 months each, providing vast opportunities and significant company exposure.

Upon completing the 24-month program, we will facilitate your post-program process, supporting you in finding the best position that suits your skills and aligns with business needs.

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.What You'll DoYou will complete four 6-month rotations, gaining hands-on experience with daily tasks and impactful projects.

Rotations could fall in the following areas : Technical SupportDeliver technical sales assistance and support on a wide range of issues for distribution partners, end-users, and internal Trimble teams.Become a product expert by providing essential training to staff and clients on the features and functionality of our solutions.

Troubleshoot out-of-box failures and manage warranty replacements.Product TestingPrepare next-generation tools and technologies for market release by testing in both field and office environments, documenting workflows and product performance.Supply pre-release technical content to product support and documentation teams, and assist post-release with issue resolution.Help bring new tools and technologies to market by performing rigorous field and office testing to ensure product quality and performance.

Product ManagementContribute to product vision and feature development as an active member of the product team.Ensure product development outputs align with strategic objectives.Drive the creation of Go-to-Market materials and other release assets to facilitate a successful product launch.Conduct market research to assess customer needs and inform future product requirements.Sales EngineeringPartner with the regional sales team to support revenue goals through product demos, industry events, and trade shows.Facilitate engaging product, technology, and application training sessions in both formal and informal environments to drive customer understanding and adoption.Stay current on emerging technologies and competitive product offerings, including features and customer interest.Your Characteristics and SkillsBrings curiosity, enthusiasm, and initiative by actively seeking new concepts, technologies, and opportunities, thinking critically, and driving projects forward without waiting for direction.Adapts quickly to changing priorities and challenges, maintaining an open mindset while balancing multiple responsibilities effectively.Demonstrates leadership potential by guiding team efforts to deliver shared outcomes, inviting and respecting different perspectives, and taking accountability for quality results.Operates as a champion for innovation by proactively identifying new and efficient ways to approach work, including exploring and implementing emerging technologies like AI to solve problems and create value.Required Education & ExperienceBachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, GIS, Geography, Construction Management, or similar.A minimum of one related prior internship or up to three years of relevant professional experience is required.Experience with surveying, GIS, GPS and / or other positioning solutions.Willing to collaborate with team members to explore opportunities for applying AI and other solutions that enhance workflows and customer experiences.Preferred ExperienceFamiliarity with construction and / or mapping software.Experience using analytics and reporting tools to help monitor performance and identify trends.Recent leadership experience / involvement in university or elsewhere.Please note : Only applicants legally entitled to work in New Zealand will be considered.
